There has always been something I have liked about lighthouses, especially older ones which hae so much character. This is such a beautiful image, Inger. I love the sweeping rugged rocks leading to the distinctive lighthouse with that wonderful cloud light backdrop.
Me too Pete, I am definitely drawn to lighthouses. There is something about the isolation and rugged weather conditions – and imagining how it must have been back in the days when all lighthouses were manned. Thanks for the lovely comment.
Wow – that is amazing! And 150 years old, that is a lot. Slettnes Lighthouse was unfortunately destroyed during the second world war if not it had been more than a 100 years now. It was rebuilt just after the war.
Un paraje solitario y espectacular. La composición, la luz y los tonos son una “delikatessen”. Los faros siempre son un buen ” highlight” para rematar una gran obra! Cheers, Inger! 🙂
Much appreciated Randall! This was the perfect coastline, I really liked the isolation of the lighthouse. And the funny part – it was surrounded with reindeer!
Thanks Sue! I think there is something about the isolation of the lighthouses that draws me to them. And the rugged landscape they are usually located in:)
I really enjoyed this serene photo, Inger. This week I was on the southernmost point of the U.S. (in Hawaii) and there is something profound about these points, like your lighthouse here. And you captured the profoundness in this photo.
Thank you so much Jet! I really appreciate your comments:) This is probably my favourite photo of this light house. I am thinking about going back in winter, the clear blue winter sky and the lighthouse surrounded by snow. That must be magical as well.
I love photographing lighthouse but don’t do so often enough. My big plans for the 2016 was to visit and photography lighthouses around New Jersey. I completed only one. Sigh.
I share your passion for photographing lighthouses! There is really something special about them. Hopefully you still have the chance to photograph the lighthouses around New Jersey in 2017, would love to see them through your blog:)

What a beauty. I’m very fond of lighthouses. I live at 200 meter from a lighthouse (next year 150 years old!).

Wonderful composition Inger. The lighthouse looks so lonely but comforted by the warm pink blanket of the sky.
